Year One

A year ago, Danielle and I spent a whirlwind day together, finishing party preparations, coordinating schedules, getting dressed up real fancy, getting married, being photographed for hours, having a big party for 150 of our most beloved people and getting ousted from the hotel we booked for the first night of our honeymoon.  Aside from that particular fiasco…

Year one has been better than I could have ever hoped.  We have a nice little apartment in Boston, and though we both work a lot, we enjoy the time we get together (possibly to excess).

Yesterday we drove up to Ogunquit, Maine to celebrate our big year with a dinner at Arrows restaurant, one of the 50 best fine dining establishments in the country (Danielle is a serious foodie). Dinner was ah-mazing. (It ought to have been. $$$)

Ogunquit is maybe one of the most serenely beautiful spots on the East Coast. There are large white sand bars and rocky coves, quaint beach front shops, and the charm of a small New England village.  Just sitting on the beach or walking around is strangely relaxing.

This morning we exchanged gifts.  For our “paper” anniversary Danielle got me a Beatles Songbook with chords to all of the Beatles original songs.  I got her a framed certified copy of our marriage certificate and some kitchen things she likes.  Anyway, just loads of happiness with this kiddo of mine.

Huzzah for marriage!

My wife makes awesome things to eat sometimes.  Like ravioli from scratch.

My Christmas List: Or, “stuff I wish for that doesn’t cost >$1000USD”

Audio stuff…

A decent stereo bar, like this.

Some medium-height mic stands.

One of those cool flash recorders I’ve never gotten around to buying.

Maybe some cool software.

Other stuff…

Some Dockers.  I already filled out size and colors on a zappos search.

An electric blanket couls be warm and cozy.

Then there’s always anything on our wedding registry on amazon.

Double stuff…

Who doesn’t like Oreos?

my theory as to why a person needs another person. sort of.

You know those gaps of time between when you decide to go to bed and when you actually fall asleep wherein you are wide awake? During that gap of time, you have so many thoughts and half-ideas that are just bursting to be made, but no, you are in bed, you mustn’t go arousing your brain or you will…

Danielle wishes sometimes, this was not a need I have, when she is sleepy.

Mark Leombruni bought a Studer A808 from WBUR.  It’s up in the dirty right now and I get to play with it tomorrow.

Amazing hook singer.

I asked her her name she said “Blah blah blah.”

She had 9-10 pants and a very big bra.

Biz is genius… Ps, there’s great Biz all over the Beatsie Boys’ “Check Your Head”.  I think he just hung out in the studio for the whole album.

Tiny babies playing Metallica REALLY well.  Like, creepily well.

Hahaha.  Full scale guitars too.

Sonic.
Blue.
Jazzmaster.
Pretty much just like this (with cream binding on the neck and Lindy Fralin Jazzmaster pickups).

Possibly the best reason for Jenny Owen Youngs to come play Boston soon.

I got a new job. In Hahvaad Yahd.

As of this morning I work for Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design as an audio-visual engineer… That’ll do.

So, it’s back to the ranks of the full-time employed.  Technically, I guess, I have 3 part-time jobs, but you know… lots of hours of work.

Huzzah!
